UWG Athletics continues the 2015 Season Ticket Blitz as representatives will be at locations throughout the Carrollton area.

"It is a fantastic opportunity to grab a bite to eat and to secure your 2015 Wolves' Football season tickets, all at the same time."

A tournament record 37 foursomes came out to play in the 6th Annual ARAMARK Golf Classic on July 24, taking part in the four-man scramble that has become one of the premier golf tournaments in western Georgia.
The 37 teams at Oak Mountain Championship Golf Course were treated to food throughout the day from various corporate partners of UWG Athletics, including Chick-Fil-A, Jimmy John's, Shane's Rib Shack, American Pie, Papa John's, and ARAMARK. There were two closest to the pin holes as well as two long drive holes along with one of the favorite moments of the tournament, the "Drive Like A Lady" hole. Read more ...
The University of West Georgia is a dynasty in the world of cheerleading. In 1997, the university experienced an enormous tragedy with the loss of three members of the cheerleading squad, including the head coach and two cheerleaders. Since that tragedy, UWG Cheerleading rose to one of the most dominant forces in the history of collegiate cheerleading competition, with 18 UCA championships since 2002.
UWG Cheer alumni, in conjunction with head coach Nicole Nichols, are now looking to pay homage to those who lost their lives in that tragic accident. A Cheerleading Memorial Fund has been established, with a goal to raise $10,000 by October 1, 2015. Read more ...
The UWG women's golf team had three golfers named Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars this week as Jessica Danford, Taylor Sarratt, and Lola Uribe each earned the distinction for their excellent work in the classroom as well as on the course. It is the second-consecutive year that Lola Uribe has been named All-American Scholar by the WGCA.
Among other criteria, this honor required a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative GPA and played in a minimum of 50 percent of the team's competitive matches. West Georgia had the second most named All-American Scholars in the Gulf South Conference behind Lee, who had four golfers named to the list. Every summer since 2000, the University of West Georgia teams up with the Carroll County Sertoma Club and the Comprehensive Community Clinic at UWG to hold the Sertoma Fantasy Baseball Camp at Cole Field. The camp provides children from the Carrollton community the opportunity to play baseball in a safe environment alongside UWG coaches, players, and speech-language professionals at UWG.
The Comprehensive Community Clinic began two years ago when the College of Education combined all the clinics across campus and brought them together as a comprehensive educational training facility. The CCC offers speech-language evaluation and therapy, literacy tutoring, math tutoring, and private and family counseling services. Read more ...
