U.S. News & World Report recently released its 2016 rankings for online graduate nursing programs. While it comes as no surprise that the University of West Georgia’s nursing program ranked well, it should be noted that they ranked higher than last year.
UWG’s Tanner Health System School of Nursing’s online graduate program was ranked this year at 31, after being ranked at 41 in 2015. Over 1200 programs that are offered mostly or entirely online at regionally accredited institutions are evaluated for the rankings.
Dr. Jenny Schuessler, dean and professor of the Tanner Health System School of Nursing, is once again pleased with the rankings.
“The recognition of the Tanner Health System School of Nursing’s graduate program as a top-ranked school for three consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report is a notable affirmation of the school’s reputation for academic excellence and commitment to caring,” she said. “This honor is well deserved and reflects the hard work, planning and innovation of the faculty, staff, and students in the school’s master’s and doctoral nursing program.”
The Tanner Health System School of Nursing’s mission is to exemplify academic excellence in a caring environment by providing quality undergraduate and graduate education to meet current and evolving health care needs within the global community.
U.S. News & World Report bases their rankings on five general categories. They include student engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation, student services and technology, and admissions selectivity.
