In recognition of their son Matt Dyas’ passion and commitment to the success of the UWG golf program, parents Cathy Mintz and Ashli and David Dyas established the scholarship, which will be awarded annually to a recruited or current member of the UWG intercollegiate men’s golf team.
“I am really grateful for the scholarship and the entire Dyas family,” said Chase during the scholarship signing held in March.
David Dyas explained that Chase was instrumental to getting Matt Dyas his initial tryout for the golf team, and it was an honor to select him as the first recipient in recognition of his friendship to Matt and commitment to UWG.
“It’s a privilege for the golf program to receive this scholarship,” said UWG’s men’s golf team Head Coach Barry Harwell. “We appreciate all that Matt’s family has done for the school, for the program, and for golf. We will continue to work hard to keep up the work that Matt and all his teammates started three years ago.”
