AffordableCollegesOnline.org (AC Online), a leading resource for online learning and college affordability information, has released its third annual ranking for the 2015-2016 Best Online Criminal Justice Programs. The University of West Georgia has been ranked number eight in this prestigious ranking.
“Credit for this award belongs to the pioneering leaders and faculty in the College of Social Sciences,” said Associate Dean of Online Development, Dr. Jason Huett. “This is one of the best and most innovative criminology programs in the country with an unwavering commitment to excellence in online education and student success. UWG Online is proud to support their efforts.”
Over 175,000 bachelor's degrees were recently awarded to undergraduates in social sciences.
"Our program strives for continuous improvement in course and program design and delivery,” said David Jenks, professor and chair of criminology. “The dedication of our faculty and the outstanding support at UWG make this possible as we strive to be the best place to work, learn, and succeed."
Ranked schools meet a number of criteria and metrics, including:
“Criminology has distinguished itself as an award-winning program due to the faculty’s and staff's commitment to student success,” said Janet Gubbins, senior director of UWG Online. “They really care about each student as an individual, as evidenced by their willingness to offer the BS in Criminology completely online, on-campus, and anything in between. Few programs offer such flexibility, coupled with faculty who are experts in the field, and all at an affordable price.”
Affordable Colleges Online has distinguished its ranking scale by the use of Peer-Based Value, or PBV. The PBV score compares the cost of each program to the cost of similar programs with the same qualitative score.
