The UWG football program is poised for a potential run to the NCAA Division II playoffs, but the Wolves need to continue their winning ways to get there. With that said, the University of West Georgia is providing a student bus to help the Wolves have a "Home in Rome" and to take the University Stadium atmosphere to Barron Stadium on Saturday as UWG takes on the Shorter Hawks in the regular season finale.
The Wolves enter the final game of the regular season with an 8-2 record on the year and a 4-2 spot in Gulf South Conference play, and they will look to win nine games in a season for the first time since the 2000 campaign. West Georgia is coming off of a fantastic finish at home against Florida Tech, successfully defending an undefeated home record with a 49-35 victory.
Students wishing to hop on the bus to provide a "Home in Rome" for the Wolves are encouraged to contact Clay Carroll via email at cjcarrol@westga.edu by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13 to pre-register for the trip. There is no cost to students for the transportation to the game, but tickets via the Shorter Athletic Department are $7 at the gate and lunch will be on your own. Students will need a valid student ID to get on the bus and to get the $7 student ticket at Barron Stadium.
"Home in Rome" Intinerary:
9:00 a.m. - Meeting at the UCC for departure
10:15 a.m. - Arrival at Barron Stadium
11:00 a.m. - Kickoff - Wolves vs. Hawks
Return to the UCC immediately following the game
