October 3 is Big Blue Friday, an opportunity for fans to receive discounts, complimentary products or services at one of 10 friends of the UWG Wolves, just by wearing their West Georgia blue. It is a chance for the university and the local businesses to work together to show appreciation to Wolves fans.
Big Blue Friday participants include:
On Saturday, October 4, fans are encouraged keep wearing their blue to the Paint It Blue event for the Wolves football game vs. West Alabama Tigers. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. at University Stadium.
Prior to kickoff, the Wolf Walk will begin at 11:40 a.m. with the band playing at 11:30. The walk will lead to The Hill for a student pre-game experience at 11:45. The first 200 students to arrive at The Hill will receive the official Paint It Blue T-shirt, provided by Ozier Apparel.
Chick-Fil-A will provide free food for students with ID at The Hill, and one student will be chosen to participate in the Chick-Fil-A Kickin’ For Chicken between the first and second quarter. If the student selected makes a 25-yard field goal, he or she will win Chick-Fil-A for a year.
For the second straight week, Monster will provide the drinks at The Hill for students with ID, and Coca-Cola will be offering samples of a new product.
Student organizations or students who wish to set up their own tent on The Hill are asked to contact UWG Athletics at (678) 839-6533 for more information and correct timing to ensure a spot.
