The National College Testing Association (NCTA) has a new president. The University of West Georgia’s very own Francesca Taylor will serve as president for the 2014-2016 term.
“The opportunity to be the president of The National College Testing Association is what I consider the pinnacle of my professional career,” said Francesca.
NCTA is an organization that consists of over 2,000 other testing professionals from across the U.S. and also Canada.
Currently Francesca is the director of the university’s Learning Support and Testing center located in Strozier Hall. She has been with the university since 1977, and although she left for a brief period of time, she eventually returned.
“I’d loved being in a campus setting, and I knew I had the skill set that would make me a good fit for this position,” Francesca said.
Her role here at UWG is virtually all testing related. She is responsible for supervising exams for students with documented learning and physical disabilities. Another responsibility is departmental testing for the university.
“I do exams for the political science department because transfer students have to be certified in the area of the Georgia Constitution if they’ve already received Political Science 1101 credit, but it didn’t have Georgia in it,” said Francesca.
Learning Support and Testing is also responsible for e-Core midterms and finals for students who choose to take the tests with the department.
