It is with great sadness that the University of West Georgia announces the passing of Mary Ann Myers on Thursday, July 16. She fought her long-term battle with cancer with a spirit and tenacity that has been an inspiration to everyone.
Mary Ann was a beloved staff member who served as the departmental assistant with College of Education for 20 years, and she will be sorely missed. She was a member of Mt. Holly Church of God and the Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Tina Myers of Carrollton, and three grandchildren, Kaylee Karakos, McKenzie Myers, and Lilly Ann Myers, all of Carrollton. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 18 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel. In keeping with the family’s wishes, her body will be cremated and no service is scheduled at this time. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com.
