The Annual International Night at the University of West Georgia has become a local event with more than 500 people in attendance, not only from campus but also the surrounding community.
This year’s 31st annual International Night, which will be held on Thursday, February 4, promises to be a fun filled extravaganza of multicultural cuisine and performances. The cuisine will vary from England to Australia, from Venezuela to Spain, and from Nigeria to Sri Lanka. Performances will include dancing, singing and instrumentalization.
“It is going to be the best one yet,” said Peter John, the president of the International Student Club. “With over 30 countries represented through food and performances, the attendees will be very happy with their experience.”
Allayah Carr, who will be attending International Night for the first time this year, looks forward to seeing how people in different parts of the world live on a daily basis.
“I look forward to experiencing the different cultures through tasting their foods and watching their traditional dances in their traditional outfits,” she said.
Like every year, the fashion show, displaying the national regalia of countries from around the world, is a highlight of the event. With students showing off their culture’s unique style, the night is sure to be a glamorous affair.
Come one and come all. The event, which begins at 7 p.m., will be one to remember. For ticket prices and more information, call 678-839-4780.
