From the first time Marty Davis met the staff, he knew the University of West Georgia was special. The new director of continuing education had transferred here from Bainbridge State College, where he coordinated the continuing education and professional services program.
“I really enjoy working with small and medium-sized businesses and helping them with their training needs,” said Marty, who is a certified CPR/first aid, insurance, and driver’s education instructor, just to name a few. “We provide everything from short business courses to digital photography. We also play an important role in the economic development for Carrollton, Newnan, and other parts of West Georgia by providing programs and courses that help individuals learn new skills or build upon their current credentials.”
Marty received his bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University and his master’s degree from LaGrange College. He came to Carrollton from Thomasville with his wife Darlene and his two sons, Dawson and Tanner.
“I am so excited about being here at the University of West Georgia,” Marty shared. “As I meet fellow employees, I am really feeling what Go West really means and hope to make UWG and Carrollton home.”
