The recent Bear Toss at UWG basketball games was a tremendous success for Wolves' Athletics, as more than 100 stuffed bears were thrown to the floor at The Coliseum to distribute to children throughout the Carrollton community. Monday, representatives from four different UWG teams took those bears to Tanner Medical Center.
"We are so proud to be able to participate with our fans and organizations in the community in this endeavor," said Senior Associate Athletic Director Eddie Duffey. "And we are so thankful that we have student-athletes who are passionate about making a child smile."
The Wolves took a quantity of stuffed bears to both the pediatric floor at Tanner Medical Center so that the staff there may distribute the stuffed animals to patients. The bears were also distributed in the TMC nursery to be given to area families when a child is born at Tanner.
Wolves Helping Others continues later this month, as UWG athletes will be heading to multiple area schools on Read Across America day to read books to elementary school children.
