Buddy Lambert and April Saunders, director of creative services for University Communications and Marketing, install the new parking signs.
University of West Georgia Parking and Transportation is changing the look of the parking signs on campus. The new signs are designed to be easier to read from a distance and easier to understand for on-campus drivers.
The new parking signs are clearly marked, featuring large zone designations that are easily identified. The signs are reflective and are therefore visible at night. The zone designations are also color coded to match the corresponding parking decals for on-campus drivers as well, reducing confusion and misunderstanding related to the sign. In fact, the signs, designed by University Communications and Marketing, are an exact PMS, or Pantone Matching System, color match to the parking decals.
Buddy Lambert, parking supervisor for UWG Parking and Transportation, says that the signs were designed with the drivers in mind. “We were receiving multiple comments on not being able to understand or read the parking signs,” he said. “So we said, ‘why don’t we just design it so that everyone can read it?’”
The new parking signs were installed on campus in early August and will be visible to students returning to campus on August 26, 2013. For more information on Parking and Transportation Services, please visit www.westga.edu/parking/.
