On September 30, 2013, UWG invited the students and faculty to enjoy a Homecoming Kick-Off Dinner in the Campus Center Ballroom from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. This event was a great way to allow students to start getting involved and excited about Homecoming.
This year UWG wanted to start off the week with a bang, and why not do that with free food. The ballroom was packed with many excited freshmen wanting to get involved with campus as much as possible. Freshman Cheyenne Gilchrist from Students Activities Council states, “I wanted to get the full college experience because people are always talking about how fun homecoming is.”
The entire week is packed with exciting events. On Tuesday at 12 noon remember to look outside the UCC for the banner contest and on Wednesday from 12 – 3 p.m. students are encouraged to show their school spirit for “Wear Red, Get Fed,” to get free food at the Campus Center Patio. Then Thursday at noon students are encouraged to participate in the sidewalk chalk contest located outside the UCC, and on Friday from 7 p.m. to midnight is “Wolves Capture the Square,” located in downtown Carrollton. Remember this year’s homecoming theme is “Get a Clue, Go West.” Don’t forget to join alumni and friends on Saturday, October 5, at 10 a.m. for the start of the Homecoming Parade.
