University of West Georgia’s Online Nursing Program Ranked Among Best In Nation

U.S. News & World Report recently released its 2015 rankings for online graduate nursing programs. It should come as no surprise that the University of West Georgia’s nursing program ranked well.

University of West Georgia’s Online Nursing Program Ranked Among Best In NationUWG’s Tanner Health System School of Nursing’s online graduate program was ranked at number 41, out of over 1200 programs surveyed by U.S. News. Programs that are offered mostly or entirely online at regionally accredited institutions are evaluated for the rankings.

Dr. Jenny Schuessler, dean and professor of the Tanner Health System School of Nursing, is very pleased with the rankings.

“The importance of the recognition of the Tanner Health System School of Nursing’s graduate programs, all of which are 100 percent online, by U.S News and World Report as a top-ranked school cannot be overstated,” she said.

Dr. Schuessler is proud that their hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed.

“This ranking is a timely affirmation of the hard work, planning, and innovation of the faculty and students in the school’s masters and doctoral nursing programs,” she said.

The Tanner Health System School of Nursing’s mission is to exemplify academic excellence in a caring environment by providing quality undergraduate and graduate education to meet current and evolving health care needs within the global community.

“This recognition supports our emerging reputation for academic excellence and a commitment to caring,” Dr. Schuessler said.

U.S. News & World Report bases their rankings on five general categories. They include student engagement (30 percent), faculty credentials and training (25 percent), peer reputation (20 percent), student services and technology (15 percent), and admissions selectivity (10 percent).
