by Rebecca Hightower

University of West Georgia’s Online MBA Ranked Among Best In Nation U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 Best Online Programs ranked the University of West Georgia’s Richards College of Business online MBA program 44th in the nation. The list, published Jan. 7, evaluated over 1,200 online programs offered by nonprofit and for-profit institutions in the United States in categories of “bachelor’s degrees” and graduate-level programs in business, Master of Business Administration, education, engineering, nursing, criminal justice and computer information technology, and ranked the top 145 in each category.

“The faculty and staff in the Richards College of Business believe in and live our mission every day: We are in the business of transforming lives through education, engagement and experiences,” said Dean of Richards College of Business and Sewell Chair of Private Enterprise Dr. Faye McIntyre. “We build strong programs that prepare our students to be forward-thinking, responsible leaders. We are pleased to be ranked so highly with such a tough methodology.”

This is the second consecutive year that U.S. News ranked UWG’s online MBA among the best in the nation. The methodology used by U.S. News to determine the ranking has changed each year. Previously, U.S. News published a single ranking that assessed all online master's-level business programs, including programs leading to master's degrees in business administration. However, this year, online MBA programs have been ranked separately from other programs using a new methodology, as the MBA is the most popular online graduate business degree. The online MBA ranking is now based on student engagement, admissions selectivity, peer reputation score, faculty credentials and training, and student services and technology.
