The University of West Georgia Athletic Foundation is making strides in its first year under new Executive Director Matthew Clay and Monday, the UWGAF will take a leap into the realm of social media with the launch of the new UWGAF Facebook page.
"The future is bright for UWG Athletics, and we want to do everything we can to provide opportunities for people to join us in that future," Matthew says. "Social media can be a vital component to making that happen, so we are going to start our Facebook page with a 500-like campaign."
Beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 18, Matthew is launching the new UWGAF Facebook page and is hoping to reach 500 likes within the first 24 hours.
The UWGAF has had a table at football games throughout this fall and will have a table at the basketball games through the remainder of this year. Matthew has been able to increase new membership to the Wolves Club by 16 percent through the UWG Athletic Foundation thus far this fall.
"I am excited about the direction that the UWGAF is going," says Matthew. "A lot of our Wolves would not be able to attend college without the help of the UWGAF and this is what we are hoping to accomplish with the launch."
